چکیده
Background: Extracranial Carotid Artery Aneurysm is considered a therapeutic and diagnostic challenge. In an unprecedented way in the literature, we describe aneurysm originating from Catastrophic Antiphospholipid Syndrome. Case Presentation: A 25-year-old male patient came to Emergency Room of ABC University Hospital Sao Bernardo do Campo referring bilateral neck pain for 1 month, associated with carotid aneurysms. Due severity urgency clinical condition, immediate surgical therapy was performed without definitive etiological diagnosis. The initial morphological analysis artery suggested diagnosis Polyarteritis Nodosa. After anamnesis, physical examination, use specific primary vasculitis algorithm, review pathological anatomy requested, which showed aneurysms secondary catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome. Conclusion: It remains evident that Aneurysm-related morbidity mortality caused by Syndrome are influenced quick correct

Polyarteritis nodosa presenting with bilateral cavernous internal carotid artery aneurysms.
A 24-year-old man was admitted with a severe, abrupt-onset headache and diplopia. On neurologic examination, movement of the left eye was limited in all directions, while the right eye was limited on lateral gaze. Cerebral angiography demonstrated bilateral aneurysms on the cavernous portion of the internal ICA, measuring 2.4 cm on the left and 2 cm on the right (figure, A and B). Abdominal ang...

Polyarteritis nodosa (PAN) is a medium vessel vasculitis affecting systemic organs. Muscle involvement of PAN usually lacks elevation of creatinine kinase (CK). We herein report a case of PAN with rhabdomyolysis. A 71-year-old man was hospitalized because of muscle weakness of the lower limbs that persisted for 1 month. On a physical examination, rapidly progressive lower proximal muscle weakne...

Seckel syndrome is a rare genetic disorder with a typical "bird-headed" appearance. It could affect many organ systems but renal involvement is uncommon. Polyarteritis nodosa is systemic vasculitic disorder which also involves kidneys. We report a case of Seckel syndrome in a 9 year-old boy with renal involvement due to polyarteritis nodosa. According to the literature, this is the first report...
